Betafarl was an independent planet whose president was Zukan. It controlled an area known as Betafarl sector and was known to be aggressive in defending its borders and weakening its neighbour. Avon and Tarrant visited the planet to try and convince Zukan to join the alliance against the Federation, meeting Zukan and his daughter Zeeona and visiting their laboratories. Zukan claimed a plant was being harvested on the planet that could be used to produce an antidote to pylene-50. The planet had also developed a radioactive airborne virus.
After Zukan and Zeeona had travelled to Xenon, Avon and Soolin returned to Betafarl in Scorpio, supposedly to collect the plant that had been harvested. Instead, they walked into an ambush by Federation troopers. They managed to escape and leave the planet. (D: Warlord)
