Blakes 7 Wiki

A clone of Travis (known as Clone Travis) created by the Clonemasters for Travis. The Commander specified that it was not to be have to be reared from youth and to be his "mirror image", being skilled in strategy as him. When asked

the purpose, Travis said he saw it as "merely a tool". (AUDIO: The Rule of Life)

The clone was younger in appearance, compared to Travis and as he was before the recondition (TV: Orac, Weapon). Due to being grown from Travis's cells (including salvia, amongst other things), the clone had two eyes and two arms.

As a work in progress and child-like to begin with, when Travis first encountered the clone he saw him as weak and broke his arm. He was later modified to be strong and Travis's hatred of Blake was programmed into him. The clone reckoned that Travis was intimidated and jealous due to him being more compete. After the clone's completion, Travis was pleased and found the likeness "astounding". (AUDIO: The Rule of Life)

His first duty was to destroy Blake. (AUDIO: The Rule of Life). However, he helped the Clonemasters imprison Travis. After this, one of his first action to grant the Mutoid aide her own agency, giving her a choice of staying with her and commanding the surviving troops. For this, he thought the Mutoid should have a name and approved of the one she thought of: Liberty. (AUDIO: The Rule of Life).

Behind the scenes[]

  • The original idea for the Travis Clone was to have him played by Brian Croucher. It was then decided to have a meeting of the two Travis so Stephen Greif was cast. (BFX: The Rule of Life)
  • Reconditioning is reference to one of Brian Croucher's first lines as the character, the implication of why he was acting differently following the recast of the character (TV: Weapon).
