James Folllett, sometimes credited as Jim Follett (27 July 1939 to 10 January 2021[1]) was a British author and screen writer who scripted two episodes of Blake's 7, Dawn of the Gods and Stardrive.
Career[]
After a period spent filming sharks, hunting for underwater treasure and writing for the Ministry of Defence, Follett became a full time writer in 1976.[1] He wrote over 20 novels, several television plays and many radio dramas.
Amongst Follett's novels is The Tiptoe Boys, which he wrote in 30 days[2] to help secure the rights for the film, Who Dares Wins.
Television including Crown Court, The Squad; the BBC Schools engineering series, Today and Tomorrow; and 18 episodes of the Hyperspace Hotel segments of Knowhow.
James worked on numerous radio plays, including his well known Earthsearch series for BBC Radio 4 in 1981, with follow-up Earthsearch II in 1982. Follett subsequently novelised the serries, In 1994, he wrote the prequel, Mindwarp: Prelude to Earthsearch which was later adapted for audio in 2017 by Big Finish Productions.
