Keezarn was a planet on which civilisation collapsed some 3,000 years prior to Liberator's visit when social and economic development reached its limits.
By the time of the Liberator, there appeared to be no official name for the planet. Orac stated that no definite record existed but had found a suggestion from an archaeological treatise that it was called Keezarn. The recorded voice that Vila and Kerril heard on the ship travelling to the new world stated that this was indeed the name of the planet.
Tarrant described the population as a simple and non-aggressive people.
A prominent feature of the planet was a disused city, translated from a fragment of the old tongue as "city at the edge of the world".
The technology developed on the planet included instantaneous matter transmission over any distance on a terminal-to-terminal basis, and so the people of Keezarn sent out a starship to find a new system to colonise. A race memory was genetically planted in the population, and once every 35 generations the descendants would gather at the City at the Edge of the World to find someone to open the door to the terminal on the planet.
According to Bayban there was nothing of worth on the planet, no gems or precious metals anywhere on the planet, He assumed that they lay behind the vault door.
At least twelve natives of Keezarn were killed by Bayban and his men, probably more. (TV: City At the Edge of the World)
