Story notes[]
- Set early on in series C, between Powerplay and Volcano.
- This is the first story released to feature Yasmin Bannerman as Dayna Mellanby.
- Due to the recasting of Dayna, producer John Ainsworth briefed writer, Steve Lyons, to tailor the story specifically to focus on the character (BFX: The Spoils of War - Behind the Scenes).
- The story was decided to be set early on in series C and to partly explain how Dayna appeared to be immediately fitted in with the crew before the events of Volcano. (BFX: The Spoils of War - Behind the Scenes)
