Tanith Lee (19 September 1947 to 24 May 2015) was a British science fiction and fantasy writer who scripted two episodes of Blake's 7, Sarcophagus and Sand, Lee was the only female writer to script for the televised series.

Career[]

Outside of Blake's 7, Lee was renowned for writing science fiction and fantasy novels, with her first work published in 1971. Her writing style was note for its use of rich poetic prose and striking imagery. Tanith also wrote under the pen name of Judas Garbah and Edith Garber.[1]

Tanith Lee also wrote several BBC Radio plays, one of which, The Silver Sky in 1980 starred Paul Darrow.[2] The only other television script was Nunc Dimittis, an episode of the horror anthology series, The Hunger in 1999.

It is worth noting that one of her short story collection, published in 2013 which was entitled Space is just a Starry Night.[3] This is the third line is of Dayna's Song in Sarcophagus, and is published in the front matter pages of the book (referenced as "Dana's Song").[4]
